New entry, wow. [20 May 2006|01:53am]
[ mood | awake ]

I haven't had really much of a need to type in my journal, but what the fuck, I'm an insomniac and won't go to sleep for a few more hours. Just had my finals last week and I recieved a 3.6 GPA, which isn't bad.

I've just been swamped with tasks and I need to do them in the day, but due to my summer schedule, I am awake in the night and asleep during the day. Well, the world doesn't work that way, so.. gotta wake up early tomorrow.

I have to work tomorrow on my application for the directorship tomorrow along with my resume. Need to get both of them done tomorrow, so I can turn them in on Sunday, which is the deadline.

I am a slacker, but I at least I get the shit done before the due date.

Talk to you all later, when I feel like it, hah.

- Jeff

So, if anyone knows me, they know that I like a particular band hella, musically and well.. was personally. I had some issues on my mind concerning them, so I decided to message them via myspace. Even smaller no-name bands are becoming hollywood. Check it out here.

My original message, read first.Collapse )

Their replyCollapse )

What do you think? It's just really hella weird coming from the band who I fuckin' admired..

It's kinda funny.. [28 Dec 2005|10:45am]
[ mood | complacent ]

It's my birthday!! I am 20 today. :)

The new GDB CD is pretty decent, I like it.

Funny thing is.. when they thank people in the insert, they don't mention anything about VegasSka (or just me.. the promoter) yet they added Pulsar.. weird, huh?

That's cool, whatever though. Gwen really needs to get off her high horse and come see her fans, instead of acting all cool and shit, seriously..

What will you get for Christmas? [07 Dec 2005|10:06am]
Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In February I gave jossssshwaa a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). Last Saturday I bought porn for meaningful_lies (-10 points). In September I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last Monday I committed genocide... Sorry about that, weamplify (-5000 points). In November I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-5072 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

Hey everyone, it's Jeff from VegasSka.com.. how goes it? After the failure of the first attempt to make a VegasSKA street-team, we have dissolved the last one and are creating a brand new one, with actual purpose.

If you are up to helping out the scene and making sure your scene doesn't suck as bad as other scenes, support the ska scene by becoming a street-teamer. Help out by going to: www.vegasska.com/streetteam.html and signing the application form located on the left of the site. :)

Vielen Spass! :)

Update, WHAT?! [20 Jun 2005|02:46am]
[ mood | sore ]

Yo, how's everything going guys? I'm in the computer lab for a few more seconds before I head off to the cafeteria and eat lunch, I am starving.. I had an interesting weekend. Friday, I went to the Stadtfest, a city-wide festival and then attended an 80s party at the local club here, left at 330am, haha, it was cool though. Then the next day I managed to go to the Stadtfest, see a really awesome band that sung in German (you'd be surprised how many don't sing in German.) Then I ended up going with a German girl, Kiki, and another American named Josh to one of Kikis friend's birthday party. It was a "Dirty Dancing" theme, so everyone was in 80s threads. I enjoyed it.. actually won the dirty dancing contest with this other German girl so I rule. Yesterday, I went canoeing from a city to a city in five hours.. it was sweet, I had fun.. but now I am tired and need to eat, so PEACE! :)

Project Computer Lab ::

Oh mann, just got yelled at by someone in the computer lab in German, understood absolutely.. nothing. Well, I lie. He said something like, "Wow, that's an awesome band you are listening to, can you turn it up LOUDER?!" ... I think that is what he said.

I'm actually going to write an awesome update from Germany, not some two word post, but definately give an view of Germany through my eyes.

Weather is such an enigmatic thing here, one moment it can be bright and hot and then the next moment it is raining for hours upon hours, only to stop suddenly and leave you wondering, 'why the fuck did I walk home to put on my long sleeve?' Overall, the weather is beautiful.. the landscape is green and overflowing with trees and plants. Definately nice. I'll post pictures in an onslaughting manner tomorrow, IF and ONLY IF the computer lab is open. :)

Where does Jeff live? Are you asking yourself that? Maybe not, but I live in an apartment like fashion. There are three floors that are connected with steep stairs that make you feel as if you might fall every time you step on them. They also squeek, so unsafe. I have one roommate by the name of Mami, she is from Japan and she speaks German quite well.. unlike me, but oh well. It's a nice set-up on the third floor. Right outside of my room is the small, but quaint kitchen. Then out of the kitchen leads me to the small hall to the notorious rickity stairs. I'll have pictures of this tomorrow, so just wait!

My room is pretty small, my bed is very low to the ground, only to be supported by a wooden platform that isn't tall, whatsoever. I put up posters and whatnot to make it feel as if it is my room and it is working!

So my routine is as follows: wake up at 6.30AM -- shower.. in a very crappy bathtub, it's not the bathtub, it's the showerhead, is that how it is called? Anyways, it isn't planted in the wall, you have to pick up the showerhead and use it. A pain in the ass for sure! Then I get dressed, eat breakfast(Nestle Crunch and milk, with toast if I have time) and then I'm off on the 7.31am bus to make it to the university by 8. Then I do my homework or sleep till 8.30am. FUN! Haha, then I have German from 8.30 till 10am. Then I usually come to the computer lab, do e-mails.. chat to all the people who manage to stay up till 1AM PST and then I leave for lunch or I go home or take a nap. I have German M-TH and then I have European Union (this session) from 3.45 till 6PM After that me and my friends usually go out and hang out till 10 or so when I come home and sleep.

I don't know yet..

I need to make some friends here that are German, but how do you do that?

I need to find the formula, someone help me find it.

Anyways, I'm going to leave now, that is a small glimpse into my German lifestyle.

I'll post more tomorrow WITH pictures! ;)

Your friend and local ska-friendly promoter, Jeff.

[ mood | confused ]

I'm definately reconsidering Greek Life.. again for the second time. Maybe I'm not cut out for it, moving on would be leaving Greek Life because I'm not up to looking at a third fraternity. You'll have to ask me specifically about what happened to the first one, but I was damn determined to make this one a reality.

I'm definately into this fraternity and the chapter was awesome, I just don't know. I'm confused on why one of my brothers made it through. Now here is what I've came up with, after speaking with brothers and other people outside of it.

Basically there were four associate members. Now, two are advancing to pre-i and two of us are held over, A and B are the ones going through it and C is the one who is being held over with me. Now, A is a hold over from last semester. He was held over because of grades, nothing else.

B went through the AM ceremony with me. He wasn't well versed in the actual learning portion of our AM period, but he definately hung out with some of the brothers, playing beer pong and drinking. I spent time with "B" and helped him out with the learning shit that he needed to know. More on him later.

Now, C.. the guy who is held over with me, is a guy from last semester. On his way to Greek 101, he was attacked with a knife and whatnot, so.. he was hospitalized, but now he has been 100 percent since before this semester. During this semester, he hasn't attended any chapter meetings, philanthropy events, intramural events, socials, parties, nothing.. only thing he attended was the big bro/little bro meetings and he didn't even attend the important ones.

He was HELD-OVER this semester so he could do it this semester, but even then.. they held him again over. Now he said that his classes were fucked.. and that the fraternity was like, "this semester doesn't count". None-the-less, I'm in the same group as this guy who wasn't committed at all.

I worked my ass off, was committed and everything. It suprised a lot of people today when I told them the news. I think it's fucked up to be held over with a guy who didn't do anything. He was back up to par and failed to go to anything whereas I went to everything and hung out.

Now, if I wasn't known so much to the brothers.. why didn't anyone tell my big bro or me? How can I hang out with the bros if all they want to do.. is go and hang out.. playing beer pong and looking for easy chicks? I went to the house as much as I could, but seriously.. that was the only thing that was happening. Maybe if I drunk and played more, I might've gotten to know the brothers better, but I won't sacrifice my own personal ethics in order to do this.

B hung out with the brothers and played beer pong and drunk, that's all he did. B got into pre-i without really knowing much about the fraternity. A got into pre-i because he is a held-over from last semester and he has his grades up. C is being held over because.. uhm, he didn't have classes so he was then ok to not go to anything. I am being held over because the brothers didn't know me. So, I should've done what B did and I'd make a great impression, or I can be who I am and say 'fuck no, I'm not giving up who I am to join something.'

They might be a "tight-knit group" but I will never sacrifice my personal ethics to get to know the brothers through avenue that I do not partake in.
